Striped Bass Swimming through School of Menhaden - S52

East Hampton, NY. 2024.

Striped bass typically begin preying on menhaden once they reach about 20 to 24 inches (50–60 cm) in length. At that size, they have the speed, jaw strength, and gape needed to capture and swallow juvenile or adult menhaden, which usually range from 6 to 12 inches long. Larger striped bass—over 30 inches—can easily take full-grown menhaden and often target them as a primary food source during coastal feeding runs.

Edition x/50

Signed Exhibition Fiber Paper prints with white border. Museum-grade and archival, this baryta paper offers rich contrast, deep blacks, and lasting clarity.
